Process
Each work begins as a precise digital construction and ends as a hand-assembled unique piece. Between the two lies the slow translation of architecture into surface.

Model
An architectural idea is developed in three-dimensional CAD space.

Reduction
The body is broken down into contours, layers and precise cutting data.

Cutting
The individual elements are cut by hand or laser from Finnish cardboard and MDF.

Assembly
The relief is assembled by hand, finished in white and calibrated to light and shadow.

Ewgenij Gepper
ARTGEP examines architecture not as function, but as a cultural and biographical trace.
Ewgenij Gepper was born in Achinsk, Siberia, in 1978, lived in Ukraine and moved to Frankfurt am Main in 1994. He studied architecture at the Technical University of Darmstadt and works on large-scale construction and facade projects.
His monochrome reliefs emerge from CAD models, Finnish cardboard and MDF. Lost cities and synagogues, Ukrainian and European history, and the question of where home resides within us become constructed images poised between precision and fragility.
